Mapping
Overview
The Policy Processing System includes an Integrated Mapping module that allows an agent user to visually review and revise crop data for a policyholder.
From within the Mapping module, fields can be associated with a specific policyholder, grouped into insurance units, and planted with a given Crop, Type, Practice, and Variety. The fields can then be shaded by Farm Number, Crop, Crop/Type/Practice/Variety, or other attributes. Users can also toggle the display of various layers to view high risk areas, rainfall and vegetative indices, and more.
Map-based policy information can also be printed and given to the insured/policyholder in the form of PDF maps, such as Map Booklets or Map-Based Acreage Reporting forms.
Interface
The Integrated Mapping module opens as a popup when you've selected the Map tab from within a policy.
NOTE: This popup may be blocked by your browser's pop-up blocker. To resolve this issue, see "Disable Your Pop-up Blocker".
Basics
In the Integrated Mapping module, the planting of fields is done through the Plant panel, but the steps required for planting fields will depend on whether or not there are already CLUs associated with the policyholder’s policy in Mapping.
• | If CLUs have not been associated, then the user must first find the land on the CLU layer and copy it to the grower record before fields can be planted. Proceed to "Associate & Unassociate a Field with a Policyholder". |
• | If CLUs have already been associated with the policyholder, then a user can planting fields immediately. See "Plant, View, & Maintain Fields with Mapping". |
Features
The Integrated Mapping module features allow users to customize the mapping area, manipulate fields to better reflected policy acreage, and print maps for policyholder and agent reference.
Administrative
The Integrated Mapping module allows users with the proper permissions to perform administrative tasks within the module. These tasks are often infrequent responsibilities such as the rolling of fields from one RY to another or the importing and exporting of shape files. These tasks should only be performed with great care.
