Entity Management
Overview
The System utilizes a number of different entities, or person records, to establish policies, track shared interests, determine policy rights (including the right to indemnity), create quotes, and more.
Prospects
To provide a quote for a prospective grower—one who doesn't currently have information keyed into the System—a user can enter a new grower into the System as a "Prospect" so that a Tax ID is not required. Then, a quote can be made and forms can be printed. Later, once an application is received from the prospect, a user can convert the prospect into an insured and change related quotes to policies.
Growers
In the System, the grower record is the base for building policies and quotes. A grower can be established as an individual or business.
Each grower in the System must have a unique Tax ID Type, Tax ID, and Person Type within the agency. The System will not allow duplicate growers to be added. If a quote is converted to a policy, then the System will require that a Tax Type and Tax ID be supplied if it is tied to a prospective grower.
Shareholders
Users can associate existing policy shareholders with a detail line and add new shareholders to a policy from within the Fast Edit AR, Fast Edit PR, Add/Maintain Detail Line, and Add/Maintain APH pages using the Shareholders popup.
SBIs, or Substantial Beneficial Interests
The System allows for one or more Substantial Beneficial Interests (SBIs) to be established on the grower record of a policy. SBIs can be added from the Grower tab of an existing policy or during the creation of a new policy. The General Standards Handbook (GSH) contains the types and descriptions of SBIs available for use in the System.
POAs, or Powers of Attorney
The System allows for one or more Powers of Attorney to be established at the policy level. A Power of Attorney, or POA, can be granted the right to sign an application, make policy changes, submit production reports, etc. These decisions are made case-by-case for each POA on a policy.
Authorized Representatives
The System allows for one or more Authorized Representatives to be established at the policy level. Authorized Representatives are added as authority records (i.e., they have signature authorization on the policy they're added to).
Grantees
The System allows for one or more Grantees to be established at the policy level. Grantees are added as authority records (i.e., they have signature authorization on the policy they're added to).
