Claims & Inspections Register Search Options
All Reinsurance Years
Users can search for the claims or inspections they want to see in the Results grid of the Claims & Inspections Register using one of two options: (1) using the Quick Search dropdown or (2) by manually selecting search filters from the fields available in the Search Filters area of the Claims & Inspections Register.
The Claims & Inspection Register provides a quick way for users to search the System for claims or inspections without having to manually select filters in the Search Filters area by offering pre-defined search options that the user can select from the Quick Search dropdown.
When an option is selected from the Quick Search dropdown, the System selects the filters associated with that option in the Search Filters area, collapses the Search Filters area, begins searching for claims or inspections that match the automatically-selected filters, and displays claims or inspections matching those filters in the Results grid.
NOTE: You cannot select any additional filters from the Search Filters area of the Claims & Inspections Register when you make a selection from this dropdown. However, after the search completes, you can edit the selected fields in the Search Filters area manually and click Refresh Results if needed.
The options available to select from in this dropdown fall into two categories: System-defined and user-defined.
• | System-defined search options are generally associated with only one status (e.g., if “Assigned to Adjuster” is selected, the System will select “Assigned to Adjuster” from the Claim Status dropdown in the Search Filters area and search for claims with that status). System-defined search options search for applicable claims in all RYs. |
NOTE: Descriptions of the System-defined search options available in the Quick Search dropdown can be found in the Search Settings section on the Claims & Inspections Register Settings page, per view of the register. See "Claims & Inspections Register Settings Page" for help with opening the Settings page.
• | User-defined search options are only available in the Quick Search dropdown if the user has previously saved a custom search using the Save Filters button on the Claims & Inspections Register (see "Save a Custom Search" for more information on this functionality). |
System-defined and, if applicable, user-defined search options available in the Quick Search dropdown vary by the view (MPCI, Private Products, or Inspections) selected from the Product Type dropdown on the Claims & Inspections Register.
The Search Filters area provides the user with many filters they can use to search for claims or inspections in the System. This area can be collapsed and expanded at-will by clicking the banner/header for the area (just above the filters). This area collapses automatically whenever the Refresh Results button is clicked or when an option is selected from the Quick Search dropdown; this area expands automatically whenever the Clear Filters button is clicked.
The filters available in the Search Filters area may change based on the view of the Claims & Inspections Register that the user is on, and the majority of the filters available are dropdowns. Some of the dropdowns only allow single options to be selected (e.g., the Reinsurance Year dropdown) while others allow multiple options to be selected at one time (e.g., the Claim Status dropdown on the MPCI view and the Agency dropdown on the Private Products view). An additional search filter—the Include Closed, Withdrawn, Void Results checkbox—is also available.
When done selecting the filters needed in the Search Filters area of the Claims & Inspections Register, click the Refresh Results button to search the System for claims or inspections that match the filters selected. Users can also do the following in the Search Filters area:
• | Click the Clear Filters button to clear all of the selections and/or entries they’ve made in the Search Filters area and clear the Results grid. |
• | Click the Save Filters button to save the selections and/or entries made in the area as a custom search for future use. For more information on saving a custom search, see "Save a Custom Search". |
NOTE: Any dates entered using available date/date range filters will not save in a custom search.
