Florida Citrus Fruit (APH Plan 90)
Overview
RMA has implemented a new Florida Citrus Fruit Actual Production History (APH) Pilot Program beginning in the 2022 Crop Year (2021 RY). This new program is very similar to the CA Citrus Fruit APH program (Plan 90), and the following commodities are insurable under it: Oranges (0227), Grapefruit (0201), Tangelos (0203), Mandarins/Tangerines (0309), Tangors (1302), and Lemons (0202).
This new program is offered in the same counties that the current Dollar Plan of Insurance program is offered. Separate coverage levels are available by type within each citrus fruit group and range from CAT to the 85% coverage level. Optional and enterprise units will be available as specified in the Crop Provisions. Additionally, this program offers a simpler loss adjustment process and faster claim settlements as the coverage is based on historic average yield, so damage is determined by calculating the difference between the historic average yield and the amount of citrus remaining on the trees.
• | Users can select different coverage levels for each insured crop (citrus fruit group) or by type. |
• | Users can select different Price Election % by type. However, it's important to note that if CAT coverage is elected, the CAT level of coverage and price election will be applicable to all insured acreage of the insured crop (citrus fruit group) in the county. |
• | A separate admin fee is due for each insured crop (citrus fruit group). |
• | The insured crop will not include "Meyer Lemons", "Sour Oranges", "Limes", "Clementines", or any type not specified as insurable in the Special Provisions. |
• | Whole Farm Units are not allowed except as may be provided on the Special Provisions. |
• | Beginning Farmer Rancher (BFR), Veteran Farmer Rancher (VFR), Conservation Compliance (CC), and Native Sod (NS) are all applicable. |
• | Late Planting, Prevented Planting, Replanting, and Trend Adjustment do not apply. |
