When adding detail lines for Annual Forage, you’ll select the grid you want to include in your coverage and the commodities associated with that grid. Then, for the chosen Grid ID, you must indicate the Commodity Name, Description, Intended Use, Practice, and how many acres were planted on the grid and when.
1.
On the View MPCI Policy page, for the Annual Forage coverage you just added, click the Add hyperlink in the Detail Lines column. The Add New Detail Line page opens.
2.
In the Unit Number field, a default unit number is assigned to the detail line. Change the number if desired. Continue to the next step.
3.
From the Grid ID dropdown, select an available Grid ID. This list is populated from the ADM for the State/County selected.
NOTE: To open the AG Force USA PRF Grid Locator URL, click the Grid ID hyperlink. The URL opens in a new browser window and allows you to search for the coverage location and identify the correct Grid ID.
4.
In the Grower Share field, type the grower’s percent of share (as a decimal value) for the growing season for the insurable acres. This value cannot be greater than 100% (or 1.000).
5.
In the Insurable Acres field, type the number of acres that are insurable for the selected Grid ID.
6.
To mark acres of a selected Grid ID as uninsurable, mark the Uninsurable checkbox. If you mark this checkbox, the Uninsured Reason dropdown appears. Select a reason the Grid ID’s acres are uninsurable.
7.
In the Reduced Acres (for claim purposes) field, if the premium lines need to reflect different acres for premium calculation than the acres used for interval claim payments (e.g., the insured sells some of the acreage on the coverage), type the number of acres to use for the claim calculation. If the Reduced Acres field is blank, the System will update the database field to match the total Insured Acres; if the Reduced Acres field contains a value greater than zero, the System will not update the database field to match the total Insured Acres.
8.
If Reduced Acres are entered, type the date the reduced acreage was effected in the Reduced Acres Effective Date field in DDMMYYYY format or use the calendar button to select a date.
9.
If the acreage is native sod, mark the Native Sod checkbox.
10.
If multiple cropping applies to the detail line, select the Multiple Cropping Code from the dropdown.
11.
The Crop Type and Percent of Value are carried over from the coverage. Verify the fields and continue to the next step.
12.
From the Acreage Type dropdown, select the type of acreage the insured acres qualify as.
13.
To document any additional information important to the coverage to the detail line, in the Comments field, type your notes.
14.
To print the comments on the Production Reporting Form, Acreage Reporting Forms, and SOI, mark the Print Comments on Forms checkbox.
15.
In the Acreage Details section, for Line #1, select an available Commodity Name/Description from the corresponding dropdown. Once you make a selection, a second line loads below.
16.
Select the Commodity Type/Description from the corresponding dropdown. If “Unlisted Commodity Type” is selected, a blank field appears below the dropdown. Type a description of the Commodity Type.
17.
From the Intended Use dropdown for the line, select how the grower intends to use the commodity. These options change based on the commodity chosen.
NOTE: If the CAT Coverage Level was selected, then the Intended Use defaults to "Grazing".
18.
In the corresponding Irrigation Practice/Organic practice column, from the first dropdown select the irrigation practice used for the detail line. If organic practice is a factor and relevant to the commodity, select an appropriate option from the second dropdown.
19.
In the Insured Acres/Plant Date field for the line, in the top field, type the number of the commodity’s insured acres planted on the selected Grid ID. The sum of the Insured Acres for each Line # must equal the Insurable Acres indicated for this Grid ID. Then, using the date picker below the Insured Acres field, enter a plant date for the commodity.
20.
Repeat steps 15-19 for each Commodity Name/Type/Use/Practice combination on the Grid ID.
21.
To save the detail line and return to the View MPCI Detail Lines page, click Save & Exit. Notice, each unit has the same Index Interval.
